FANS EAGERLY AWAITING FC Goa’s AFC Challenge League 2 fixture against Al Nassr will be disappointed, as Cristiano Ronaldo will not feature in the match, according to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat.
The news comes just days after Sandesh Jhingan expressed his excitement at the prospect of facing the Portuguese star. “He is probably one of the greats to play this sport, and you don’t get this kind of an opportunity to play against such players. So yes we are delighted and I can’t wait to play against Ronaldo,” he said to Hindustan Times.
Ronaldo had already missed Al Nassr’s ACL 2 group-stage opener at home against FC Istiklol. Reports suggest he will feature in only around 75% of matches this season, with the club carefully managing his workload to ensure peak performance in key fixtures and ahead of next year’s FIFA World Cup 2026.
General tickets for the much-anticipated FC Goa vs Al Nassr clash went on sale on 19 September, priced between Rs 2,500 for North and South lower stands; and Rs 8,500 for seats in the West Stand. Demand remains high, with Fatorda Stadium expected to be packed as fans flock to watch international stars including Sadio Mané, João Félix, Kingsley Coman and Marcelo Brozović.
