CSK-RCB clash to kick off IPL 2019

MUMBAI: The Indian Premier League (IPL) Tuesday released the schedule for the first two weeks of the 2019 edition of the tournament, which is set to begin on 23 March in Chennai where defending champions and MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will host Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Although the schedule is still subject to the dates of the Lok Sabha elections, the IPL organisers have confirmed that a total of 17 matches will be played during these two weeks period across the eight home venues of the respective franchises.

All teams will play minimum of four matches with the debutants Delhi Capitals (DC) and RCB playing 5 matches. Every team will play minimum of two home and two away matches with DC playing three home matches, while RCB will play three away matches.

23 March (Saturday) – CSK vs RCB – Chennai

24 March (Sunday) – KKR vs SRH (Day) – Kolkata

                                   MI vs DC (Night) – Mumbai

25 March (Monday) – RR vs KXIP – Jaipur

26 March (Tuesday) – DC vs CSK – Delhi

27 March (Wednesday) – KKR vs KXIP – Kolkata

28 March (Thursday) – RCB vs MI – Bengaluru

29 March (Friday) – SRH vs RR – Hyderabad

30 March (Saturday) – KXIP vs MI (Day) – Mohali

                                     DC vs KKR (Night) – Delhi

31 March (Sunday) – SRH vs RCB (Day) – Hyderabad

                                  CSK vs RR (Night) – Chennai

1 April (Monday) – KXIP vs DC – Mohali

2 April (Tuesday) – RR vs RCB – Jaipur

3 April (Wednesday) – MI vs CSK – Mumbai

4 April (Thursday) – DC vs SRH – Delhi

5 April (Friday) – RCB vs KKR – Bengaluru
