NEW DELHI: The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) on Friday named Anil Sethi as the new chief security & protocol officer and Devendra Singh Negi as general manager, cricket operations.
IndiaTV promoter Rajat Sharma, the new DDCA president, commented on the development.
“I am confident that these new appointments in the DDCA will ensure smooth cricket operations and overall security. This is in line with our stated goal of injecting professionalism and transparency in the working of DDCA.”
A former Indian army officer, Sethi has more than 10 years of experience in creating security protocols at an international level.
Negi on the other hand, is a retired Lt Colonel and has had the prior experience of working as nodal officer (Joint Director rank) handling sports development and perspective planning for the Corps of Signals in the Indian Army. Since 2017, Negi has been responsible for strategic operations and planning for the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL).
It was also announced that PC Vaish, DDCA chief financial officer (CFO), will be the interim CEO until Ravikant Chopra takes over on a permanent basis.
The move comes in the wake of the DDCA filling their top 3 executive positions, namely CEO, CFO and COO recently and requesting the likes of Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag to play the role of advisors.
