Deakin named Best Foreign Uni for Sports Education in India

DEAKIN UNIVERSITY has been awarded Best Foreign University for Sports and Physical Education in India at the Global Sports Education Convention (G-SEC) 2026, held at the India International Centre in New Delhi.

Presented by the Confederation of Sports and Recreation Industry (CSRI), the award recognises Deakin’s global leadership in sport and physical education, along with its sustained and meaningful engagement with India’s higher education, skills and sports ecosystem, according to the media release.

The university is internationally renowned for excellence in sport science, physical education and sports management, and is consistently ranked among the world’s leading institutions for sport-related disciplines by global ranking agencies, including the QS World University Rankings by Subject.

Deakin is home to the world’s top-ranked sport science school for five consecutive years and is currently placed 14th globally for sports-related subjects. The university’s expertise spans sport science, exercise physiology, athlete performance, sports technology and health sciences, supported by applied research and long-standing partnerships with elite sporting organisations around the world, the release added.
