Delhi Capitals, NO MORE unveil upcycled backpacks

JSW-GMR CO-OWNED Delhi Capitals have announced a partnership with NO MORE, a Ministry of Textiles–certified upcycled fashion and lifestyle brand, to design the team’s official backpacks for the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) season.

Renowned for its one-of-a-kind, circular bags and accessories, NO MORE has reimagined the Delhi Capitals’ backpacks through a fully upcycled approach. For the first time in the WPL, a team’s official backpack has been created using legacy playing kits, placing sustainability at the heart of the design process.

The backpacks have been handcrafted from last season’s Delhi Capitals Women’s Team jerseys, giving team apparel a second life rather than sending it to landfill. Key elements of the bags, including logos, flaps, panels and pockets, have been carefully cut from the upcycled jerseys, preserving the club’s identity while significantly reducing textile waste.

Adding another layer of innovation, discarded car seat belts have been repurposed as haul loops. Chosen for their strength, durability and performance, these materials, originally engineered for safety have been thoughtfully adapted for everyday use, blending sustainability with functional design.

Delhi Capitals CEO Sunil Gupta said, “The league has been a powerful catalyst in the growth of women’s cricket, helping build a stronger, more conscious sporting ecosystem. Partnerships like this coming to life reflect how the league is evolving beyond performance to purpose. Giving back in meaningful ways is central to our philosophy at Delhi Capitals, and this collaboration with NO MORE allows us to align sport with sustainability, innovation, and long-term responsibility.”

NO MORE founder Praveen Premkumar added, “We are proud to partner with Delhi Capitals to set a new benchmark for sustainable sports merchandise. Designed and handcrafted in India, these backpacks demonstrate that sustainability can be embedded, not added, to performance-driven products. Our goal is to show that fashion, sport, and conscious design can come together to create high-quality products that honour both the planet and the legacy of athletes.”
