A RECORD 80 teams, comprising 50 men’s and 30 women’s squads, will compete for top honours at the 3×3 All India Basketball Championship, scheduled to take place in New Delhi on 27 and 28 December. Team registrations remain open until 12 December.
The Prithvi Nath Club (PNC), affiliated with the Delhi Basketball Association (DBA), is conducting the event, with the DBA hosting it under the aegis of the Basketball Federation of India (BFI). The championship also holds official recognition from FIBA 3×3.
The tournament is being organised in memory of the late Harish Sharma, former international basketball player and respected sports administrator.
Co-chairperson of the organising committee Sudhanshu Mittal said, “This format is the future of basketball and encompasses agility, reflexes, strategy, and everything in its recipe that makes it exciting. FIBA’s approval gives this tournament the prestigious status it deserves. It is a proud moment for all basketball players and all Indians that this new future-centric format has the endorsement of FIBA.”
