Sports broadcast technology provider Deltatre has hired former Reliance-backed JioSaavn executive Meetal Shah as its country manager to spearhead expansion in India.
The appointment follows after the acquisition of the business by Bain Capital and Nextalia SGR in June 2022.
Deltatre launched its India operation in 2015 and having already worked with the likes of the Hero Indian Super League, Star Sports and Sony Pictures Networks India, is looking to significantly expand its presence in the region over the next 18 months.
Shah’s role will be instrumental and encompass all aspects of the company’s India operation, including unlocking new commercial relationships across the subcontinent, building Deltatre’s brand in the region and developing growth strategies to support hiring.
Shah brings over a decade of experience across the technology, sports, media and entertainment sectors, having previously worked at Indian music streaming service JioSaavn, where she led marketing and growth and built brand partnerships with the likes of the NBA; and the UK government’s Department for International Trade, where she supported the Premier League’s growth in the Indian market and together launched The Football Movement, an India-focused football business conference.
Shah will report into Deltatre’s senior vice president of Corporate Strategy, Craig Harvey.
