DENTSU INDIA HAS APPOINTED has appointed Raj Thakkar as Senior Director — Sports, Gaming & Esports. In his new role, Thakkar will focus on building business opportunities across sports, gaming, and esports through partnerships, monetisation, and integrated brand solutions spanning media, creative, data, and partnerships.
Thakkar noted, “We’re at a fascinating inflection point where sports, gaming, entertainment, fandom, and culture are colliding like never before. The opportunity to build experiences, communities, and IPs that genuinely move people and move brands has never been bigger.”
Before joining Dentsu India, Thakkar served as head of Operations at Global e-Cricket Premier League, working on franchise-based esports properties. He previously spent over three years at JioGames managing esports leagues, gaming events, and sponsor integrations for brands including Qualcomm and MediaTek. He was also a founding member of Tesseract Esports LLP and began his career as a professional player with Infamous Gaming, representing India at the Vainglory World Championship in Seoul.
