LONDON: Japanese advertising giant Dentsu Inc. has confirmed plans to take an equity position in UK-based Perform Group, operator of live sports streaming portal DAZN and parent company of leading football website goal.com.
No details were offered on either the amount of equity Dentsu was picking up in Perform or the financial terms of the transaction.
“We can confirm that we have responded to the equity investment opportunity in Perform Group Ltd,” Dentsu confirmed, according to a report by German industry magazine new business.
Perform Group issued the following statement: “Perform Group Financing plc is pleased to announce that Perform Group Limited, our ultimate parent company, has signed definitive documents with Dentsu Inc. in respect of a new equity investment in the share capital of Perform Group Limited. The closing of the new equity investment will be subject to certain customary conditions, including receipt of applicable regulatory approvals.”
Dentsu is a Japanese international advertising, public relations, stockholding company headquartered in Tokyo. Dentsu is currently the fifth largest advertising agency network in the world in terms of worldwide revenues.
