World Boxing has announced that Double D, the licensee for adidas Combat Sports, will become one of its official equipment manufacturers until 2028.
This partnership is separate from World Boxing’s existing agreement with Sting, its official competition equipment supplier, which provides gloves, protective clothing, handwraps, and training gear for the World Boxing Cup Series as well as the U19 and Elite World Boxing Championships.
Under the agreement with Double D, all relevant adidas boxing products — including gloves and headgear — have successfully passed independent technical and chemical testing. As a result, adidas is now eligible to tender as an equipment provider for any major international or multi-sport event featuring boxing under World Boxing’s jurisdiction.
The technical equipment vetting process involved a series of chemical and mechanical tests, evaluating factors such as:
* The durability and impact resistance of gloves and headgear.
* Product structure, dimensions, and materials.
* Compliance with safety and functional quality standards.
* Environmental standards related to product composition and materials used.
World Boxing will continue to conduct random testing of adidas boxing equipment throughout the duration of the agreement.

Since 2005, Double D – adidas Combat Sports has served as the global licensee for adidas in the field of combat sports. The company designs, develops, and distributes adidas equipment for boxing, judo, karate, taekwondo, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu across more than 100 countries.
