AFA appoints Druid Sport as commercial rep for Indian subcontinent

ARGENTINE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION (AFA), reigning FIFA World Cup champions, has appointed Druid Sport as its exclusive commercial representative in the Indian subcontinent.

Under this landmark partnership, Druid Sport will manage and sell regional sponsorship rights for Argentina’s national football teams, offering brands across the subcontinent direct access to one of the sport’s most iconic teams and Lionel Messi. With existing Indian partnerships including Amul and Kingfisher, the collaboration underscores the growing commercial appeal of Argentina’s national team in the region. The build-up to the FIFA World Cup 2026 presents a strong platform for new partners to activate campaigns, engage fans, and align with the reigning world champions.

This announcement coincides with Argentina’s upcoming visit to Kerala this November for a special international friendly, a key fixture in their preparations for the 2026 World Cup, which could mark Messi’s final World Cup appearance. With an estimated 250 million fans in India, the subcontinent represents one of Argentina’s most passionate and rapidly growing supporter bases outside South America, according to an official release.

Druid Sport, a boutique international sports marketing agency, has a proven track record of delivering cross-market partnerships for major global sports properties. Already serving as AFA’s exclusive representative in China, the agency is now establishing a new office in India to support regional partners, develop commercial programmes, and scale its presence within the subcontinent’s fast-evolving sports ecosystem.
