LONDON: The Premier League announced on Thursday an extension of its contract with talkSPORT for the next 3 seasons, until 2021-22.
With this deal, talkSPORT will remain PL’s global audio partner and continue to provide official live and on-demand audio coverage of all 380 Premier League matches to listeners around the world outside of the UK and Republic of Ireland, with distribution spanning both streaming and broadcast platforms.
talkSPORT licenses its Premier League coverage to distribution partners in 68 locations, which is produced in-house by Wireless Studios, a digital audio production unit set up by Wireless Group to cater to the growing demand for premium live and on-demand audio content. Wireless Group is talkSPORT’s parent company.
An expert team of commentators and producers will provide coverage in multiple languages including English, Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, Swahili and Bahasa Malay.
Premier League executive chairman Richard Scudamore said: “These rights are an important part of the Premier League’s efforts to make the competition available to international fans.
“talkSPORT produces compelling live match commentary that reaches listeners across the world and we are very pleased that will continue for a further three seasons.”

With this deal, talkSPORT ensures that it will be the home of English football, also covering the Sky Bet EFL Championship, League One and League Two competitions globally, having the exclusive rights for the same.
In the UK, it covers top-notch football competitions such as Champions League, Europa League, the FA Cup, LaLiga, Copa Del Rey and are currently involved with providing commentary for the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia.
