MUMBAI: Eurosport India, Warner Bros. Discovery’s premium sports brand, has announced the acquisition of broadcast rights for the first-ever Women’s Kabaddi League. The league marks a historic step towards promoting women’s kabaddi in India.
The 12-day inaugural edition of the Women’s Kabaddi League will be hosted in Dubai, with all matches taking place at the Shabab Al-Ahil Sports Club.
The Women’s Kabaddi League will kick off with an opening ceremony on June 16th, 2023, and will be broadcast live for Indian fans on Eurosport India from 7:30 pm IST, onwards. The opening game of the league will feature a match between the Rajasthan Raiders and the Punjab Panthers, starting at 8:45 pm IST.
The tournament will showcase 120 women kabaddi players representing eight teams: Rajasthan Raiders, Delhi Dynamites, Gujarat Angels, Great Marathas, Haryana Hustlers, Punjab Panthers, Uma Kolkata, and Bengaluru Hawks. Indian kabaddi fans will have the opportunity to witness a total of 31 thrilling encounters, featuring renowned players like Harwinder Kaur (Senior National Kabaddi Player, Gold Medalist) and Moti Chandan (National Kabaddi Player – Asian Games).

Warner Bros. Discovery Sports is renowned for bringing top-level sporting action from national and international events to Indian fans.
