MILAN: Serie A club Inter Milan announced Saturday the appointment of Giuseppe Marotta as its new co-CEO. The highly experienced executive, who quit Juventus recently after eight years with the defending champions, will begin his role immediately and be responsible for the entire sports area of the club.
Marotta will work alongside Alessandro Antonello who has been named the CEO for all corporate activities of the club. Both the CEOs will report to club President Steven Zhang.
Zhang said: “This is an important change for the club in line with our objective of becoming a winning football club and a successful company. As Inter, we want to win, entertain, inspire and connect people through football. Beppe is one of the best executives in the football industry and will help us to achieve our goals. Outside of the pitch Alessandro will ensure the enhancement of our off-pitch performance, the successful completion of the Club’s strategic projects, and the promotion of our values inside the organisation.”
