BHUBANESWAR: Fans made a beeline for ticket counters at Kalinga Stadium here as the physical sale of tickets for the upcoming Men’s Hockey World Cup 2018 commenced Monday.
Ticket sales opened at Kalinga Stadium and various outlets in the Odisha state capital and Cuttack.

With less than a month to go for the prestigious tournament, organisers Hockey India (HI) decided to make it easier for the public to book their spots.
The tournament will be held from November 28 running through to December 16.
The general tickets for all matches of the quadrennial competition will be available around the city and at the box office situated at the Kalinga Stadium.
To woo more people into the stadium during the Hockey World Cup, the organisers have been reasonably priced the tickets for the tournament. For the pool and crossover matches ticket prices will be East Stand (Rs 200), North Stand (Rs 100), South Stand (Rs 100). The same for the tickets knockout, semi-final and final matches will cost East Stand (Rs 250), North Stand (Rs 150) and South Stand (Rs 150).
The opening match will see world number 3 Belgium pitted against world number 11 Canada.
Host India will be in action on the opening day facing world No. 15 South Africa.
HI Secretary General Rajinder Singh said: “The sale of tickets at various outlets will give our hockey fans the chance to secure their spot to experience world class matches amidst the state-of-art facilities at the Kalinga.
