FC Diez Media announces new GM, Brazil country manager

ASUNCION, Paraguay: FC Diez Media, the IMG-owned business that manages the commercial rights to South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) club competitions, Tuesday announced it has appointed Diego Alfieri as general manager and Pedro Visconti as country manager, Brazil.

Alfieri has more than 15 years’ experience in international management across telecommunications, sports, retail and banking. He joined FC Diez Media when it was established in 2018 as head of Finance and most recently served as the company’s finance director prior to his appointment as general manager.

Visconti has worked in the market for nearly 20 years and has been with FC Diez since it was established in 2018. He joined as head of Legal before being promoted to VP & Counsel in 2022. In his new role, he’ll assume responsibility for the strategically important Brazilian market and oversee the local negotiations for rights to CONMEBOL’s club competitions.

Under the new leadership, FC Diez Media will aim to boost distribution for CONMEBOL’s competitions, with a focus on digital channels to engage younger audiences. The business will also explore ways to reach regional and international football fans to bring more value to the most prestigious club tournaments in South America.

Founded in 2018, IMG’s FC Diez Media recently renewed its agreement with CONMEBOL to manage the sale of broadcast, sponsorship and licensing rights to the CONMEBOL Libertadores, CONMEBOL Sudamericana and CONMEBOL Recopa until 2026.
