Viswanathan Anand and Gukesh Dommaraju recently appeared together in an advertisement for Fwd by Myntra, where they engaged in a humorous conversation highlighting generational differences.
The ad showcases both of them engaging in a playful conversation while Dommaraju gets a new tattoo and Anand, a five-time world champion, jokes about his collection of trophies.
The conversation shifts to Anand seeking Dommaraju’s help to understand modern Gen Z terms. Gukesh introduces phrases like ‘drip’ and ‘skibidi,’ while Anand tries to prove his knowledge of pop culture by mimicking a Michael Jackson pose.
Produced by advertising agency Braindad, the ad mixes humour with a message about bridging generational gaps and staying trendy, all while showcasing Fwd by Myntra as the go-to platform for modern fashion.
Dommaraju also took to social media to comment on his latest stint. “It was fun,” he posted on X.
Dommaraju became the youngest world chess champion in December 2024 by defeating Ding Liren in the World Championship match held in Singapore. He is a member of the WestBridge Anand Chess Academy, which was co-founded by Anand. This is his second brand endorsement, following RBL Bank.
