Gagan Narang, Annu Raj Singh launch Project Amarjeet for shooters

GAGAN NARANG, Olympic medalist, along with his wife and fellow Olympian Annu Raj Singh, have launched Project Amarjeet, a free coaching, mentoring, and guidance initiative open to any shooter, coach, or academy across India. The initiative was launched on Gagan Narang’s birthday.

Project Amarjeet is named after Gagan Narang’s mother, and offers three levels: Grassroots, Intermediate, and Elite. Udaan is a three-to-five-day coaching camp conducted at the applicant’s academy, where participants travel to the location. It is designed for underprivileged shooters and academies with limited access to elite coaching and is available for both rifle and pistol disciplines. Pratibha is a long-term one-on-one mentorship programme for shooters with exceptional potential. The guidance is provided both in person and remotely over an extended period. Disha offers structured guidance and consultancy for coaches, academies, and parents seeking direction in athlete development. The programme includes focused consultations and a written guidance document with actionable recommendations.

All three programs are open to anyone in India connected to the sport of shooting, regardless of affiliation, geography, competitive level, or institutional connection. Applications are reviewed personally by Gagan Narang and Annu Raj Singh.

Project Amarjeet offers their coaching and mentorship free of cost; the operational expenses of conducting programs across India including travel, accommodation, professional fees, and equipment support, are managed through a three-part contribution model.

  • Saathi refers to coaches, experts, and volunteers who contribute their time and expertise to support specific programs.
  • Sahyog covers institutional, corporate, and foundation funding channeled through GNSPF, with Section 80G tax benefits applicable.
  • Samarpan refers to individual donations directed toward a specific program, camp, or athlete, also routed through GNSPF and eligible for 80G tax exemption.

Gagan Narang confirmed that his and Annu Raj Singh’s time will always be given freely to the program. “Our time is our contribution. It is given in the name of our mothers. Every rupee raised goes toward making a program happen, travel, accommodation, equipment, expert professionals. Nothing else.”
