ROYAL CHALLENGERS BENGALURU’S (RCB) arm, RCB Cares, has unveiled a strategic expansion of its grassroots sports development programme, extending support to Yes For Hockey and Ashwini’s Sports Foundation in collaboration with GoSports Foundation.
By broadening its focus to hockey, athletics and shooting, RCB Cares is reinforcing its belief that lasting impact begins with access, structure and sustained investment. The expanded initiative aims to create defined athlete pathways, unlock high-quality coaching and training ecosystems, and ensure regular competitive exposure, combining ambition with measurable, on-ground execution, according to a media release.
Through its partnership with Ashwini’s Sports Foundation (ASF), RCB Cares will bolster training and competitive opportunities for promising athletes in athletics and shooting. The collaboration seeks to enhance access to expert coaching and specialist support services, including sports psychology, while easing financial burdens through assistance with kits, equipment, pellets, footwear and tournament participation.
Support will also extend to Yes For Hockey (YFH), a grassroots organisation working with government schools across Karnataka. The programme will help establish a structured development pathway for children from underserved communities by strengthening coaching support, facilitating access to artificial turf facilities, arranging transport for training, and providing nutrition, playing kits and essential equipment. Under the YFH framework, teams will compete in the Karnataka State Hockey Association C Division League and school tournaments, with technology-driven tracking systems introduced to monitor progress and aid talent identification.
The expansion further builds on RCB Cares’ ongoing commitment to Bridges of Sports Foundation. The initiative currently engages more than 400 children from the Siddhi community through a two-tier league structure. Of these, 24 junior athletes are undergoing 300 structured training sessions aimed at preparing them for state and national-level competition. Two standout performers will advance to an elite performance pathway in the UK, receiving specialised training under coaches and therapists associated with Olympic medallists.
RCB CEO Rajesh Menon said, “At RCB, we believe the future of Indian sport will be shaped not only by elite success, but by the strength of its grassroots foundations. Through RCB Cares, our ambition is to build structured, sustainable talent pathways that connect community sport with high-performance ecosystems. Supporting hockey, athletics and shooting reflect our long-term commitment to nurturing multi-sport excellence in Karnataka, aligned with India’s broader vision of becoming a global sporting nation. This is about investing in systems, partnerships and accountability that can create measurable impact for years to come.”
