THE 28TH FMSCI National Racing Championship wrapped up at the Kari Motor Speedway with an action-filled weekend of close battles, standout performances, and new champions crowned across multiple categories.
Dhruvh Goswami (MSport) sealed the LGB Formula 4 title, considered the blue-riband event of the championship, after winning both races on Sunday. He entered the final Round 3 weekend trailing leader Diljith TS (Dark Don Racing), but produced a remarkable turnaround. Ahura Racing’s Monith Kumaran Srinivasan secured the rookie crown in the same category.
Goswami, an 18-year-old from Bengaluru, ended the long-running single-seater series in commanding fashion, taking three of the four weekend races. His most impressive drive came in Sunday’s 20-lap finale, where he started seventh on the reverse grid, three places behind former champion Diljith, who held a four-point advantage. Goswami surged forward early, briefly ceded the lead to teammate Ruhaan Alva, and then reclaimed it for a dominant victory.
Round 4 of the FIA-certified Formula 4 Indian Championship, held alongside the national series as part of the Indian Racing Festival, delivered international success stories. South Africa’s Luviwe Sambudla claimed his first win of the season in the opening race, leading from pole to flag. Indian driver Ishaan Madesh (Kolkata Royal Tigers) secured third after edging past Saishiva Sankaran (Speed Demons Delhi) in the closing laps, finishing behind teammate Ghazi Motlekar of Mozambique.
The second race saw Kenya’s Shane Chandaria take victory from pole, while Motlekar climbed from fourth to second. French driver Sachel Rotge (Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru), winner on Saturday, completed the podium after starting third. Madesh again held off Sankaran to finish fourth in a tight contest.
In the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup, Bengaluru’s Anish Shetty, who had already sealed the professional title with a race to spare on Saturday, rounded off his season with another win, securing his second championship in the category. Pondicherry’s Bryan Nicholas claimed the amateur class title.
The inaugural Levitas Cup witnessed Balaji Raju clinch the rookie championship after winning both races on the final day. Coimbatore’s Jai Prashanth Venkat dominated the gentlemen’s category to lift the title.
The Novice Cup, India’s entry-level single-seater series, ended with a four-way title showdown. Lokithlingeash Ravi (DTS Racing) from Pollachi emerged victorious, winning the season-ending shootout to secure the crown.
