ALBANY, Bahamas: The Hero World Challenge golf tournament has been cancelled due to travel restrictions imposed amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 18-player event, hosted by golf superstar Tiger Woods, was scheduled to take place from December 3 to 6 at Albany, Bahamas.

On the reasons for the event's cancellation, the organiers stated: "Given the current global restrictions and ongoing developments resulting from COVID-19, the 2020 Hero World Challenge will not be played this year.

NEW DELHI: The Union Sports Ministry has conveyed its decision to grant annual recognition to 12 more National Sports Federations (NSF) through an affidavit to the Delhi High Court on Monday, reports the New Indian Express. This is in addition to the 18 NSFs it had decided to give recognition to earlier.

BUDAPEST, Hungary: The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), fighting to keep its place at the 2024 Paris Olympics, on Friday named a third president in a crisis-hit week. "In accordance with the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Constitution and by-laws, the IWF executive board at its meeting held on Friday appointed Dr Michael Irani as IWF interim president," the IWF stated.
