BENGALURU: Great Sports Infra (GSI), the leading provider of turnkey solutions for sports infrastructure in India and South Asia have installed world-class synthetic turf at the Md. Shahid Astro Turf Hockey Stadium in Chennai. GSI is a FIH-certified field builder and the stadium has been tested and certified as a Global Category hockey field courtesy a Certificate of Field Performance by the FIH.
ICF is now ready to host national as well as international level games. A five-day tournament, MP Murugesh Memorial hockey tournament was hosted at this venue wherein teams from ICF, Indian Bank, Central Excise, Southern Railway, and IOB had participated.

The stadium was inaugurated by former Indian World Cup winning captain, Ajit Pal Singh and Olympians such as V. Baskaran, R.Prabhakaran, Dinesh Nayak, S. Thirumalvalavan, Adam Sinclair, and many more.
