Stage set for Guwahati to host World Jr Badminton C’ships ’25

BWF World Junior Badminton Championships 2025 will take place in Guwahati, Assam, from 6 to 19 October, marking the second time India has hosted the global event.

The tournament will feature around 450 players from 44 countries, showcasing the next generation of badminton talent. The Team Championship is scheduled from 6 to 11 October, followed by the Individual events from 13 to 19 October.

The Badminton Association of India (BAI) has appointed Krishna District Badminton Association (KDBA) secretary MSN Prasad as match control for the event, recognising his experience and long-standing contribution to the sport.

Prasad has officiated at several major international tournaments, including the 2010 Commonwealth Games, World Championships, and the India Open Super Series (2011–2018). His impressive resume also includes officiating at the Premier Badminton League (Seasons 1–4), the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2014, and the 35th National Games, as well as global events such as the Dutch Open, German Open, Denmark Open, French Open, and Bangladesh Open.
