NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation has decided to impose relegation in the I-League 2023-24 as per the rules and regulations.
In the 13-team competition, Neroca FC with 14 points and Trau FC with 13 points finished as the two bottom teams and have been relegated.
Mohammedan Sporting Club with 52 points emerged 2023-24 I-League champions and have been promoted to the Indian Super League (ISL).
Replacing Neroca FC and Trau FC are Sporting Club Bengaluru and storied Goan side Dempo Sports Club.
While SC Bengaluru emerged I-League 2 champions, five-time NFL/I-League champions Dempo SC are back in the I-League after a gap of nine years following relegation.
SC Bengaluru were crowned champions of the 2023-24 I-League 2 with two rounds to spare on April 15. The Golden Tigers were promoted to the I-League 2024-25 for the first time ever.
