Indian Boxing Council partners TIAR to launch NFTs

NEW DELHI: The Indian Boxing Council (IBC), set up as a body to promote professional boxing in the country and affiliated to the World Boxing Council (WBC), is entering the NFT arena in partnership with The Indian Art Revolution (TIAR).

The IBC will release NFTs that includes crucial moments from the fights it organises and players’ profiles.

The IBC statedv that its NFT collection will include other assets as well such as “boxer cards, boxer avatars for the metaverse, boxing artwork through artist collaborations”.

Commenting on the partnership, IBC president retired Brigadier PK Muralidharan Raja asserted that the partnership with TIAR will be “a huge step towards ensuring a steady income source for our boxers”.

TIAR co-founder and CEO Akshar noted that the organization wants to build a strong community of boxing supporters in India. Akshar said, “The boxing NFT would work very well with TIAR’s Boxing Pay-Per-View channel.”
