KOLKATA: Former Indian men’s football team captain, Subimal Goswami, popularly known as Chuni Goswami, 82, died in Kolkata due to prolonged illness.
Goswami, as an international player, played 50 matches for India.
He was also a first-class cricketer, represented the Bengal cricket team in Ranji Trophy.
Chuni Goswami, despite getting many international offers including Tottenham Hotspur, rejected everything to play for the Mohun Bagan football club for his entire career.
