NEW DELHI: Indian Sports Fan, which lays claim to being the country’s largest sports fan community, has tied up with the Indian Tennis Daily for the ‘Fan Lounge’ coverage of the upcoming Davis Cup tie here.
The Lounge has been created for the first time in the country for India’s Davis Cup rubber against Denmark in the World Group Playoff 1 scheduled on March 4 and 5 at the grass courts of the Delhi Gymkhana Club.
The objective of this Fan Lounge is to provide maximum engagement among the tennis aficionados and create a buzz around the event. Speaking on the initiative of Tennis Fan Lounge for Davis Cup, Om Pathak, co-chairman of the organizing committee said, “It’s a unique idea to connect sports fans with their sporting heroes. It will definitely help Indian tennis reach more people and places.”
The Fan Lounge has emerged as a platform to exchange ideas and views amongst different stakeholders of sports fraternity since its recent inception. This objective was acknowledged by Indian Davis Cup Team captain Rohit Rajpal who echoed similar thoughts. “Tennis Fan Lounge is a great idea. Its concept is novel and would garner attention from the entire fraternity and connect them with their sporting icons.
Speaking on the development, Vatsal Tolasaria, founder of Indian Tennis Daily, said: “Indian Tennis Daily is glad to partner with Indian Sports Fan. We believe that this association will contribute to the promotion of sports in the country and increase its mass base.”
Davis Cup is coming back to India after a gap of three years and the iconic Delhi Gymkhana Club is set to host it after five decades.
