MUMBAI: The BCCI Thursday released the official number of players registered for the upcoming TATA IPL 2023 mini-auction. A total of 991 players (714 Indian and 277 from overseas) have signed up for auction, set to take place in Kochi on 23rd December.
IPL player registration closed on 30th November.
As per reports, the ten franchises will be allowed to spend Rs 5 crore extra than the purse it has remaining from the mega auction that took place ahead of IPL 2022. This is likely to make the overall auction purse for each franchise at around Rs 95 crore.
The players’ list includes 185 capped, 786 uncapped and 20 players from Associate Nations.
Highest base price
England Test captain Ben Stokes, all-rounder Sam Curran, Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, and New Zealand captain Kane Williamson are among the players with the maximum reserve price of Rs 2 crore.
Apart from Stokes, Curran, Green and Williamson, the likes of Nicholas Pooran, Chris Jordan, Rilee Rossouw, and Rassie van der Dussen are the other noticeable names among 21 players who have been included in the highest bracket.
Among Indians, the highest base price is for Mayank Agarwal and Ishant Sharma, both of who are asking for Rs 1 crore as base price.
