IPL Auction in December, salary cap up Rs30m: Report

MUMBAI: Indian Premier League franchises will get the opportunity to further strengthen their squad in December this year, when the auction for the next season are reportedly to be held.

According to a report, it will be a mini auction, which will see a Rs 30 million increment to the salary cap of players which means the franchises can spend up to Rs 860 million. 

The IPL 2019 auction witnessed plenty of action as 8 teams spent Rs 10.68 billion on 60 players. At 84 million, Varun Chakaravarthy and Jaydev Unadkat emerged as the joint costliest players at the IPL 2019 Auction held in Jaipur, while England all-rounder Sam Curran (Rs 72 million) was the highest-paid foreign player.
