INDIAN SUPERBIKE LEAGUE (ISBL) has moved a step closer to its debut season, shortlisting 200 riders from an impressive 1,200 entries during classification rounds in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai. Competitors spanned pro, amateur, female, and rookie categories.
Selection wasn’t based on speed alone. Riders were assessed on fitness, technique, racing background, discipline, and personality, with ISBL emphasising its vision of developing well-rounded athletes capable of meeting international standards on and off the track.
A highlight of the Chennai round saw Ducati superbikes hit the circuit, giving many riders their first taste of world-class machinery. The moment underscored ISBL’s intent to set a new benchmark for Indian motorsport, with a professional ecosystem built around racing, safety, infrastructure, and global-level competition.
ISBL director Pranav Bakre said, “The response has blown past our expectations. What we’ve uncovered is an extraordinary reservoir of Indian talent that was waiting for the right stage. We’re building not just a league but a culture where speed, discipline, and sportsmanship come together. With the Pune round around the corner, we’re ready to open a new chapter for motorsport in India.”
