JIOSTAR, the official broadcast and digital partner for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup India & Sri Lanka 2026, has unveiled its tournament campaign with a striking new film that signals a shift in how Indian cricket is being represented.
For the first time, India’s reigning ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup winners Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma take centre stage in the build-up to a men’s World Cup, rallying the nation in a powerful role reversal that reflects the growing stature of the women’s game.
The film opens with Rodrigues recalling the night India fulfilled a nation’s dream by winning the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, before urging fans to turn their attention to the next challenge as the men’s team begin their own quest. Verma and Sharma then join her, reinforcing the message that India has already brought one World Cup home and is determined not to let the next one slip away.
Developed by the JioStar Creative Team, the campaign links defining moments from India’s men’s and women’s teams to build anticipation for the men’s side’s title defence on home soil something no host nation has achieved before. The team will be aiming to become the first country to lift the trophy three times.
India will begin their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign in Mumbai against the USA on 7 February. The tournament opens with Pakistan facing the Netherlands, and fans will be able to follow every match live across JioHotstar and the Star Sports Network from 7 February to 8 March.
JioStar head – sports content Siddharth Sharma said, “As the Indian Men’s Cricket Team prepares to embark on a historic ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, striving to become the first ever back to back champions, it was apt for the reigning women’s World Champions to lead the charge in rallying support for the Men in Blue. This film was created to depict champions cheering champions– for Team India to repeat history on the biggest stage of all and to energise a billion fans who are longing to see Team India lift the trophy once again at home.”
