Man City confirm robotics, digital lottery partners

MANCHESTER: Premier League champions Manchester City are all set to continue their innovative partnership with UBTECH Robotics Corp. which began in 2016.

UBTECH has been producing engaging content for the English club’s fans globally including the Alpha 2 robot ‘signing’ as a new squad member. This season, the ‘Cruzr’ robot will be a part of matchday entertainment with fun displays on the pitch at the Etihad Stadium and providing fans with all retail and football-related information.

Last season, UBTECH teamed up with the Club’s foundation, ‘City in the Community’ to deliver coding lessons to schools across Greater Manchester through the use of a special ‘JIMU’ robot range. The partnership has now been implemented to over 1,120 children across 45 local primary schools, equipping students with valuable skills to help prepare them for upcoming and future trends in the digital world. Following the success of the programme in Manchester, UBTECH and City Football Group will be rolling this out to sister clubs, Melbourne City FC and New York City FC in the following months.

Damian Willoughby, senior vice president of Partnerships at City Football Group, said: “We are delighted to announce this extension to our partnership with UBTECH. This is a truly unique partnership that has provided entertaining content between fans, players and robots that has been enjoyed around the world.

“We look forward to working with UBTECH further over the coming years and are excited to further explore the relationship between football and robotics.”

Zhou Jian, founder and CEO at UBTECH, said: “In the past two years, through a combination of sports, entertainment and artificial intelligence, we have joined forces to explore a new way of innovation. As a professional and innovative team, Manchester City is a natural fit for us. We are looking forward to continuing our partnership.”

Manchester City and New York City FC will have another common sponsor in lottery.com, the mobile lottery company in USA that is the domain leader in delivering officially sanctioned games of chance to mobile phones. Through a lucky draw, users on the site could have the dual opportunity to win hospitality and VIP Tour tickets to visit the Etihad Stadium and watch games as well as attend a special Manchester City viewing party that will be held in the USA.

Through this partnership, lottery.com aims to build the largest charitable platform worldwide as it also recently launched the sale of their Security Token Offering, a web and app-based service that offers a unique approach to mass-scale philanthropy.

Appealing to players of games of chance, donations made to humanitarian causes also opt players into regionally appropriate games that provides multiple rewards to winners, including cash prizes, increasing awareness, participation, and donations.

“We are immensely excited to partner with Manchester City and New York City FC,” said Lottery.com CEO Tony DiMatteo.

“With loyal fans across the United States and the rest of the world, we have an amazing opportunity to provide our users with once in a lifetime experiences.”
