Mary Kom confirms Puma association till 2021

MUMBAI: India’s world champion boxer MC Mary Kom announced Monday on social media that she will be endorsing global sports apparel brand, Puma.

In India, Puma has signed up athletes such as Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and batsman KL Rahul in the past.

According to a statement, Puma’s deal with the decorated pugilist will initially be for a two-year period, although there is no update yet on its financial terms.

Mary Kom is set to lead the brand’s #DoYou marketing campaign which aims to inspire women to achieve their goals by adorning its training apparel.

The deal was facilitated by IOS Sports and Entertainment, which has helped Mary Kom gain more commercial mileage with top brands such as HP India, Nestle, BSNL and Herbalife.

“Being a woman and a mother I have faced several challenges that I have powered through, thanks to my family and team.

“Puma as a brand has always believed in supporting and encouraging women, which made it a perfect fit for me,” Mary Kom commented on the new partnership.

Puma India MD Abhishek Ganguly added: “We are very thrilled to welcome Mary to the PUMA family. She is going to take our women’s category in India to the next level.”
