Men’s T20 WC on course to be most accessible edition in history: ICC

THE INTERNATIONAL Cricket Council has rolled out an ambitious campaign, through a combination of innovative technology and worldwide fan engagement, to make the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 the most accessible global cricket tournament in history.

In addition to coverage of every match being available via ICC.tv on the ICC’s website and app in over 80 territories, select matches are being shown live on the ICC’s YouTube channel for the first time.

This includes Sunday’s much-hyped but ultimately underwhelming Group A encounter between expected winners India and Pakistan in Colombo, which had localised commentary in Japanese and Bahasa available on the ICC’s YouTube channel in Japan and Indonesia to further increase the competition’s reach in key growth territories.

Alongside the English-language world feed, ICC.tv has also carried Hindi commentary for all matches, Urdu commentary for Pakistan games and Nepali commentary for matches involving Nepal.

India broadcast partner JioStar have localised commentary even further by broadcasting each fixture in five languages; English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada across their TV and digital coverage. They have also created additional regional feeds (Bengali, Bhojpuri and Haryanvi) on JioHotstar and are producing Marathi and Indian Sign Language for all team India matches, the semi-finals and final.

Meanwhile, the ICC World Feed’s radio broadcasts are being produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and available globally on the ICC app.

Extending deeper into mobile devices throughout the tournament, the ICC’s new Creator Club has invited hundreds of content creators from cricketing countries to the event. It is providing creators and their audiences with unique access to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Also making its debut at the competition has been the ICC’s new Match Insights feature. Powered by real-time stats and data, it has already enabled fans to better understand and demystify the often-complex aspects of cricket in clear, simple language.

Global Fan Parks
To further engage global audiences, the ICC has once again delivered a range of ICC Fan Parks during the tournament, elevating and amplifying the event beyond the matchday venues in India and Sri Lanka.

These cricket villages have popped up in multiple territories during the competition, through strategic collaboration with ICC partners, rights holders and Members.

In India, the ICC’s Official Accommodation Partner, Marriott Bonvoy, has produced live screenings at a variety of locations and JioStar has partnered with PVR-Inox to show matches on hundreds of cinema screens across the country.

Over in Sri Lanka, media rights partner Dialog has partnered with the ICC to deliver several Fan Parks across the country, while tournament Global Partners, Budweiser, took over a Colombo hotel for the clash between India and Pakistan.

Back in Pakistan, ICC Fan Parks are operating in both Karachi and Lahore, with live screenings of matches presented across a number of venues through digital partners Tapmad.

Elsewhere, rights holder STARZPLAY is hosting a tournament-long promotion at Marriott Bonvoy properties Barasti and Warehouse in Dubai, and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Global Partners Coca-Cola have activated thousands of Nepal fans in the country at their fan park in Kathmandu.

Watch parties have also been held in Namibia and Argentina, with themed events in Gibraltar celebrating the diversity of the tournament, and live screenings in Cyprus hosted by the country’s National Olympic Committee.
