MotoGP shelves plans to include Kazakhstan GP in 2023 calendar

The FIM, IRTA and MotoGP commercial rights holders Dorna Sports Wednesday confirmed that the 2023 Kazakhstan GP stands cancelled.

It was only last September that MotoGP had unveiled its plans to stage a grand prix in Kazakhstan from the 2023 season.

“Ongoing homologation works at the circuit, paired with current global operational challenges, have obliged the cancellation of the 2023 event,” it was announced.

MotoGP declared that it remains optimistic that in the 2024 season will see Kazakhstan’s Sokol International Racetrack welcome a new region to the calendar.

The event will not be replaced in 2023.
