OLYMPIC MEDALLIST Neeraj Chopra has announced the end of his decade-long association with JSW Sports as the star javelin thrower unveiled his own athlete management company, Vel Sports.
Chopra’s journey to global prominence has been closely linked with JSW Sports since 2016. Reflecting on the partnership, the 28-year-old acknowledged its significance during his early development, describing it as central to the most successful phase of his career.
The partnership began in 2016 after Chopra was identified through the JSW Sports Excellence Program (SEP), marking the start of one of the most impactful athlete-management collaborations in Indian sport.
In 2021, Chopra made history by becoming the first Indian to win an Olympic gold medal in track and field at the Tokyo Games. He followed that with a gold medal at the 2023 World Championships and a silver at the Paris Olympics in 2024.
“Over the last decade, our journey together has been one of growth, belief, and achievement. JSW Sports has played a defining role in my career, and I’ll always remain grateful for their support and vision,” Chopra said in a press release.
JSW Sports CEO Divyanshu Singh said, “Working with Neeraj has been an incredible experience for all of us at JSW Sports. His success story reflects our shared philosophy of excellence and purpose. We’re immensely proud of what we’ve achieved together and wish him continued success in all his future pursuits.”
