PEOPLE’S ARMWRESTLING FEDERATION INDIA (PAFI) has announced Ottobock as its inaugural Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partner, marking a significant milestone in the federation’s efforts to mainstream armwrestling and establish it as one of India’s most accessible, community-driven and empowering sports.
PAFI has been at the forefront of creating a structured ecosystem for armwrestling in the country, focusing on grassroots development, athlete training pathways and competitive platforms for participants across all age groups and abilities. According to a media release, the federation remains committed to breaking social and physical barriers in sport by promoting inclusivity, equal opportunity and the belief that strength and resilience belong to everyone.
Ottobock, a globally recognised German company, is one of the leader in prosthetic technology and rehabilitation solutions. Since the 1988 Seoul Paralympic Games, the company has played a pivotal role in advancing disability sport worldwide, empowering athletes with amputations and physical disabilities through innovation, technical expertise and dedicated support. Beyond elite sport, Ottobock also champions physical activity as a transformative lifestyle choice for amputees, promoting mobility, independence and overall well-being.
The Research and Administrative Collaboration Partner for the initiative will be the Wheeling Happiness Foundation, which works to enable ability beyond disability for underserved persons with disabilities.
