HYDERABAD: “Home team” Hyderabad Hunters won the third edition of the Vodafone Premier Badminton League championship with a hard-fought 4-3 win over Bengaluru Blasters in the final at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday night to land their maiden title in the event.
With the match scores tied three-all, the last match of the evening – mixed doubles – decided the enthralling encounter. Cheered on by a packed house and a vociferous team at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Pia Bernadet beat Kim Sa Rang (Korea) and N Sikki Reddy (India) 15-11, 15-12.
