MUMBAI: Global sportswear brand PUMA Tuesday announced a strategic long-term partnership with Hero Indian Super League franchise Mumbai City FC. Under the terms of the deal, PUMA will become the Official Kit Partner of the club, starting the 2020-21 football season.
The Mumbai City partnership adds to associations PUMA already has going to provide kits for a number of clubs under the City Football Group (CFG) umbrella, lead by Premier League giants Manchester City, and including Melbourne City FC, Girona FC, Montevideo City Torque and Sichuan Jiuniu.
For the record, CFG, which is awaiting final regulatory approvals to acquire a majority investment in Mumbai City FC, is currently providing advisory services to the club.
As per a statement issued by PUMA, the announcement demonstrates the German brand’s commitment to continue investing in Indian football and pioneering new ways to develop the sport through leagues and grassroot programs.
With an aim to identify and develop footballing talent in India, PUMA and Mumbai City FC will continue to prioritize grassroot programs and youth initiatives that will give children an early exposure into the world of football.
