MUMBAI: One of India’s leading film actors and principal owner of Indian Super League (ISL) franchise Mumbai City FC, Ranbir Kapoor is understood to be finalising a multi-year endorsement deal with global beverage giant Coca-Cola, Business Standard reports.
If the deal goes ahead, this will be his second beverage deal after having endorsed Coca-Cola’s long-time arch-rivals Pepsi since 2012. Kapoor is said to have increased his fees to the region of Rs. 60-80 million for each brand annually since his success with blockbuster film ‘Sanju’ in the summer of 2018.
As per consultancy firm Duff and Phelps’ recent survey on Indian celebrities and their brand values, Kapoor is ranked 16th at $21 million (Rs. 1.5 billion) with other top companies signing him on such as Hero, Asian Paints and Flipkart.
Asian Paints is Mumbai City FC’s associate partner as well. It remains to be seen whether the success of the Coke deal spills over to the club as well, which has 11 sponsors this season.
