Rohit Sharma is tournament ambassador for T20 WC ‘26

ROHIT SHARMA, former India captain, has been appointed the tournament ambassador for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will take place from 7 February to 8 March 2026.

Sharma, who led India to victory at the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup, will serve in this new role as the tournament returns to India and Sri Lanka. He is among the select few cricketers to have featured in two title-winning T20 World Cup campaigns, first in the inaugural 2007 edition and again in 2024.

He retired from T20 internationals following India’s triumph in 2024, a win that ended an 11-year wait for an ICC trophy for the men’s team.

Sharma expressed his delight at the tournament’s return to India and said he was pleased to be associated with it in a new role as brand ambassador.

He added, “I wish all the players the very best and hope they have a memorable time and enjoy India’s hospitality while taking back a lot of memories.”
