RP SANJIV GOENKA GROUP (RPSG Group) has revealed a new brand identity and integrated campaign for Manchester Super Giants, the rebranded Manchester franchise in The Hundred, following its recent acquisition of a majority stake in the team. Formerly known as Manchester Originals, the franchise has now been formally inducted into the Super Giants League, joining Lucknow Super Giants and Durban’s Super Giants.
Central to the launch is a new logo and crest, unveiled through a brand film titled Sport Just Got Bigger, which marks the official introduction of Manchester Super Giants and signals the expansion of the Super Giants global sporting portfolio.
Former international cricketer Tom Moody has been appointed Global Director of Cricket, with overall responsibility for cricketing strategy and performance across all RPSG-owned teams: Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, Durban’s Super Giants in SA20, and Manchester Super Giants in The Hundred. Moody will work closely with RPSG Sports Chief Executive Vinay Chopra and Lancashire’s Director of Cricket Performance, Mark Chilton, to shape and oversee the group’s cricket strategy.
In coaching appointments, Justin Langer has been named the new Men’s Head Coach, succeeding Simon Katich, while Matthew Mott has been appointed Women’s Head Coach, taking over from Michael Klinger.
RPSG group chairman and Manchester Super Giants owner Dr Sanjiv Goenka said, “This is an exciting and important phase for us as we formally integrate the Manchester cricket franchise into the wider Super Giants family. It marks the beginning of a new chapter, grounded in ambition and long-term vision for the game in the UK. We are equally pleased to confirm our initial group of pre-signings. On the men’s side, we have secured two world-class batters and proven match-winners in Jos Buttler and Heinrich Klaasen, alongside two outstanding spin options, Noor Ahmad, widely regarded as one of the most exciting young spinners in world cricket, and Liam Dawson, a highly accomplished and proven English spin bowler. For the women’s team, we have brought together an exceptional blend of experience and excellence, featuring some of the most accomplished players in the global game: Meg Lanning, Smriti Mandhana, and Sophie Ecclestone. Together, they reflect the standards and ambition we want the Manchester Super Giants to represent.”
