Sacramento Kings, Visit California host community events to grow India reach

THE SACRAMENTO KINGS and Visit California expanded their presence in India through a series of youth-focused community events and participation in BUDX NBA House India in New Delhi, in collaboration with NBA India. The activities follow the Kings’ 2019 visit to Mumbai, when the franchise took part in the first NBA game played in India.

Both organisations held a community basketball event at BSES Basketball Academy in New Delhi, attracting around 200 attendees, including young players and members of India’s basketball community. The session featured skill challenges, influencer-led games, and interactive fan engagement, led by Lionel Ngotchi Kab, Dhruv Barman, and Jai Sachdeva.

Earlier, the Kings also conducted a youth activation at the U.S. Embassy’s American Centre, bringing together over 150 students for basketball programming, cultural exchange, and entertainment, with Kings legend Vlade Divac making a special appearance.

At BUDX NBA House India, the Kings’ entertainment group delivered live performances and fan experiences, with Divac serving as honorary co-captain in a celebrity game. The Kings hold a distinct connection to India through team owner Vivek Ranadivé, the first Indian-born owner in NBA history.
