SIEMENS DIGITAL INDUSTRIES SOFTWARE has renewed its technical partnership with Ducati Corse for another two years, underscoring their shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation, performance, and sustainability in motorcycle engineering. The partnership continues to centre around the Siemens Xcelerator platform, which has become an integral part of Ducati’s mission to design increasingly powerful, safe, and efficient bikes.
Ducati’s research and development teams employ a comprehensive suite of Siemens’ software to streamline processes and accelerate innovation. Polarion supports requirements capture and management, while NX software powers creative and efficient design. Teamcenter, acting as the backbone of Ducati’s digital thread, seamlessly integrates design and engineering data with the company’s ERP system enhancing collaboration across departments and ensuring centralised data synchronisation.
Through Simcenter and Simcenter Testlab, Ducati can simulate performance virtually and merge digital models with real-world track data, enabling continuous optimisation throughout MotoGP race weekends. Meanwhile, Fibersim helps reduce development times for complex carbon-fibre components, translating cutting-edge design into production more efficiently.
Beyond racing, Ducati is leveraging Siemens Xcelerator to bridge its MotoGP innovations with its street motorcycle business. Teamcenter plays a pivotal role in aligning both domains, ensuring that advances made on the track inform Ducati’s commercial line-up.
Ducati Motor Holding CTO Massimiliano Bertei said, “Our partnership with Siemens has not only helped us meet current challenges but has also positioned us perfectly to meet future challenges, both on the racetrack and in the global market. We are ready to continue winning, with innovation as our guiding principle, always together with a technological partner that allows us to remain competitive and at the top. In the world of racing, being able to modify your bike until the last second is crucial. For example, during race weekends, we can remotely design new components using Siemens’ technology, which are then sent to the track and printed on a 3D printer.”
Siemens Digital Industries Software vice president and CEO for Italy, Israel and Greece Franco Megali added, “Our collaboration with Ducati demonstrates how digital transformation helps a company excel in developing cutting-edge technology for the racetrack and then quickly apply those insights to its wider business. It’s a perfect example of the power of Siemens Xcelerator, to empower multi-domain teams to collaborate and achieve innovation at an incredible pace across the entire enterprise.”
