MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN), the official broadcaster of the 18th Asian Games in India, has got 10 sponsors on board for on-air advertising.

“The response from advertisers has been excellent. Good news is that brands have started to put money on non-cricketing sports. We have signed 10 sponsors and additional spot buyers and have sold out completely,” Rohit Gupta, president, network sales and international business, SPN, told Economic Times.
“This has been unprecedented. Earlier 4-5 PSUs used to support multi-sports events, but now corporates are also investing big time. We have Raymond, Carlsberg, Havells, Car24 and HUL on board. Naturally, for disciplines such as wrestling, shooting and hockey, where medal hopes are higher, the interest is more,” Gupta told the business daily.
There are other well-known corporates on board such as Reserve Bank of India (RBI), LIC, Allied and Edelweiss.
The tournament began on August 18 and will end on September 2 in Jakarta.
SPN is looking forward to live telecast of more than 300 hours of content around the Games, featuring more than 30 hours of highlights and repeats every day across their channels such as Sony Ten 3 (in Hindi commentary), Sony Ten 2 and Sony ESPN (with English commentary).
