MUMBAI: Sports Illustrated Play has launched an improved version of its mobile app SI Play. According to the company, any team or club—regardless of league affiliation—can now use SI Play’s advanced mobile platform to manage schedules, get real-time updates, communicate with other members and share social content.
“The debut of our new app, now available to anyone with a smartphone, is an important milestone for Sports Illustrated Play as we continue to enhance the experience for our millions of users and grow our community,” said SI Play CEO Jeff Karp.
“We are excited to open up our mobile technology to more of the 150 million Americans involved in youth sports today and to offer new ways for teams to connect and share their experiences. These are some of the most cherished memories in people’s lives, and we want to help celebrate them.”
The sports technology says SI Play boasts over 17 million monthly unique users of its products and services, and its league, team and tournament mobile applications have ranked among the top five most downloaded free iOS sports apps in the US during the recent spring and summer sports seasons. The newly updated SI Play mobile app allows users to manage their teams and leagues and do things like distribute news and content, get real-time scoring and updates, create “player cards” and rosters, schedule and organize events and even get snack assignments.
It also claims to be a powerful social tool that allows users to post photos and videos of their favourite moments and sports highlights, discuss and “high-five” shared content and help those who can’t attend events feel like they are there.
