THE SRI LANKA-INDIA Test series is scheduled between August 15 and 27, with exact dates yet to be finalised. There is no confirmation on the three T20 Internationals originally proposed as part of the tour. The Tests follow the Lanka Premier League, which concludes on August 9.
Reports said that BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has travelled to Sri Lanka as part of an ICC delegation to assess the situation at SLC, which was recently dissolved by the government of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, with an interim Sri Lanka Cricket Transformation Committee appointed in its place.
September is heavily congested for India. A six-match white-ball series in Bangladesh, including three ODIs and three T20Is, has been planned, though there is no confirmation on it. The tour is a carry-forward of last year’s postponed series. Should it go ahead, it would overlap with a home series against the West Indies, the Nagoya Asian Games (cricket: September 25-October 3), and three T20Is against Afghanistan in the UAE.
India resumes international cricket on June 6 with a Test against Afghanistan in Mullanpur, followed by a three-match ODI series, before touring Ireland, England, and Zimbabwe ahead of the Sri Lanka visit.
