Stage set for PKL playoffs; total prize purse Rs80m

MUMBAI: The ‘Toughest Week’ of Vivo Pro Kabaddi League Season 7 is all set to treat fans with exciting matches at EKA Arena by TransStadia, Ahmedabad. It has announced a consolidated prize money of Rs 80 million for the seventh edition.

The top six teams based on overall points will fight it out for the Championship with the top two teams Dabang Delhi KC and Bengal Warriors having automatically qualified for the semi-finals. The remaining four (Haryana Steelers, UP Yoddha, U Mumba and Bengaluru Bulls) will fight it out in the Eliminators later Monday.

All the teams qualifying for the Playoffs are assured of some prize money, with the champions to bag Rs 30 million. The runners-up will be handed Rs 18 million, third and fourth placed teams will win Rs 9 million each and the fifth and sixth position teams will take home Rs 4.5 million each. 

The remainder of the prize money pool will be distributed towards various individual awards.

The LIVE coverage will be broadcast on the Star Sports Network and Hotstar.

This year vivo Pro Kabbadi is also introducing a Fan Fest including live concerts on each of the Playoff days.

The first clash will be between defending champions Bengaluru Bulls and UP Yoddha at 7.30pm, followed by U Mumba taking on Haryana Steelers at 8.30pm.

The two winners of these Eliminators will progress to the next stage where they take on the big two; Dabang Delhi K.C. and Bengal Warriors in the semi-finals on 16th October.
