Star unleashes powerful Pro Kabaddi 6 promo campaign

MUMBAI: STAR India, the official broadcasters and controlling stakeholder of the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League, launched the nationwide promotional campaign for Season 6 of the competition on Tuesday.

The campaign reflects the strong Indian element that Kabaddi brings to the table alongside the bravery and fitness required to be successful at the game. Its tagline ‘Bachpan Ka Khel Hai, Baccho Ka Nahi’ wishes to make a strong statement that although the origins of Kabaddi are rooted in childhood, yet the sport is no child’s play when played professionally in the VIVO PKL. 

The film has been directed by Bharat Sikka and conceptualized by creative agency BBH India. It portrays the daily regime followed by players and the hours that go into training to excel on the mat. The film opens with Patna Pirates’ champion raider Pardeep Narwal who is seen running and then moves into other players namely Rishank Deavdiga, Anup Kumar and Monu Goyat who are training their best to prove themselves this season.
 
Commenting on the launch of the campaign for the sixth season of VIVO Pro Kabaddi, a STAR India spokesperson said, “VIVO Pro Kabaddi has taken a homegrown sport to new heights of fervour and popularity. The Season VI campaign, focuses on the skill, dedication and rigour required to play the sport. Kabaddi is tough and played by some of the bravest and fittest athletes today. The film takes you through their everyday journey as they prepare for the upcoming season.”

Beginning in early October with the first match being a Southern derby between Tamil Thalaivas and Telugu Titans in Chennai, the league will travel across 13 host cities and will culminate in Mumbai. The 12 teams have been divided into 2 zones of 6 teams each, where each of them will be playing 15 intra zone and 7 inter- zone matches prior to the play offs. The play offs stage will comprise of 3 action-packed qualifiers and 2 eliminators scheduled to take place in Kochi and Mumbai.

Star Sports will be broadcasting the tournament on its English and regional channels while Hotstar will continue to live stream and provide all the highlights of the tournament on all digital platforms.
