Following a successful post-pandemic destination launch in India last year, Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) is intensifying its destination marketing in India with the launch of its newest global marketing promotion, “Waves of Wonder”, highlighting Taiwan as a premier golf tourism hotspot.
Buoyed by successful campaigns and increased travellers’ confidence, TTA is ramping up its investment in targeted promotions in order to introduce Taiwan’s rich golf offerings in India.
Additionally, with growth in Indian visitor arrivals registering a 20.81% surge last year, TTA is strategically expanding its reach, focusing on East India with a dedicated road show in Kolkata. TTA has thus far mostly focused on the North, South and West India markets through its road shows, trade engagements, and partnerships in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bangalore.
With more than 70 world-class golf courses, including the historic Ta Shee Golf & Country Club, Taiwan Golf & Country Club, and Miramar Golf & Country Club, Taiwan is positioning itself as an attractive destination for India’s luxury, HNI, and corporate travelers. The campaign aims to offer tailored golf packages that integrate golf experiences with luxury resorts, hot spring and wellness retreats, fine dining, and high-end shopping, catering specifically to discerning Indian golfers and corporate groups seeking unique incentive trips.
TTA’s widening outreach includes forging partnerships with travel agencies, OTAs, and industry stakeholders in East India, building on previous successes in North, South, and West India. Special promotional offers, including cash incentives and discounts, are being provided to make travel even more appealing for Indian visitors.
Commenting on the latest initiatives, TTA Singapore office director Paul Shih, responsible for the Indian market, said: “Taiwan boasts of a great Golfing legacy that dates back over 100 years! Our first Golf Course came up in 1919 and ever since we have developed some of the most amazing year-round Golf courses like Ta Shee Golf & Country Club, Taiwan oldest Taiwan Golf & Country Club, Miramar Golf & Country Club, to name a few, spread across the country. Besides, Taiwan is continuing to invest in its golf infrastructure, adding new courses combined with exceptional experiences.”
“Through promotion of Golf Tourism and such luxury products over the coming months industry will see us actively target India’s high-end corporate travellers, particularly those in the C-suite, by offering incentives and making it easier for them to visit and explore Taiwan,” Shih added.
The strategic pushes, aligned to the TTA’s “TAIWAN – Waves of Wonder” promotion, aim to sustain growth momentum, boost TTA’s India reach, diversify visitor base, as well as solidify Taiwan’s presence in this high-performing market.
